The Maritime Room is ideal for all sorts of private functions and parties. We host corporate events like client evenings, awards dinners and retirements, as well as birthdays (including 21sts, 50ths etc), engagements, anniversaries, charity events, gala dinners, school balls and more. The space can be styled for black-tie elegance or fun themed parties, so whether it’s business or personal, we can shape the venue around your celebration.

We’re purpose-built for celebrations and can host up to 400 guests for a standing, cocktail-style function. For seated dinners or banquets, we usually cater for around 180–240 guests, depending on the table layout. Smaller groups are very welcome too – we simply use creative layouts and partitioning to make the space feel lively and well-sized for 30, 50 or 100 guests.

Yes, and it’s something we genuinely love doing. Our chefs create menus to suit your style of function, from canapés, grazing platters and bite-sized snacks for cocktail events, through to elegant plated dinners, buffets or shared platters for more formal occasions. Dessert can be plated, shared or a full station. Our fully stocked bar, plus attentive wait and bar staff, are all part of the service.

When you book The Maritime Room, you get a fully equipped function space. That includes integrated AV for speeches, slideshows and music, adjustable lighting, covered decks overlooking the harbour, and a wide range of furniture – banquet tables, trestles, cocktail tables, stools and lounge pieces. We can create a dance floor, provide cake and gift tables, and our team manages setup, pack-down, lighting and AV so everything runs smoothly on the night.

Yes, absolutely. For smaller gatherings, we can use a section of the venue or our boardroom to create an intimate feel, with lighting and layouts tailored to your group. Medium-sized parties get a mix of seating and standing areas to keep the room feeling full and social. For big events up to 400 guests, we open the full space and deck to create a flowing, high-energy party environment.

The Maritime Room is set up with everything you need for a smooth event. We have modern audiovisual systems for music, speeches and presentations, plus reliable high-speed Wi-Fi. Lighting and staging can be tailored for anything from conferences to dance floors. Our pillarless rooms with high ceilings give clear sightlines and make theming easy. We supply banquet and cocktail furniture, climate control and on-site restrooms, and can help organise any extra equipment you need.

Yes, The Maritime Room is ideal for live music and DJs. With a spacious, open layout and quality sound system, we can easily accommodate bands, DJs, or cultural performances. We offer either a minimum spend or a venue hire fee, depending on your event date and style. On peak nights, hitting the minimum on food and drinks often waives the hire fee. Off-peak events may have no minimum spends or a fixed hire rate. We’ll tailor the best option for your needs and budget. No hidden costs.
